Farang (ฝรั่ง, say “fa-RUNG”) is what Thai people call Western foreigners – with a smile, mostly. Funny enough, it’s also the Thai word for guava.
We’re farangs too. We’ve lived in Thailand for years, paid the “tourist price”, heard “the palace is closed today” more times than we can count – and now know every scam by heart. Farangoo is everything we wish someone had told us on our first trip.
